1. Our Commitment
Privacy is at the heart of the Indian family tradition. Shagunly is designed to keep your celebration private and your data secure.
2. Information We Collect
For Hosts: We collect your name, phone number, email, and UPI ID to set up your event page and dashboard.
For Guests: We collect your name, phone number, and optional blessing message. If you provide a transaction reference (UTR) or screenshot, we store it for the host's verification purposes.
3. How We Use Data
We use this information to generate your private event page, track blessings on the host dashboard, and facilitate the direct payment process. We do NOT share your data with third-party advertisers.
4. Data Visibility
Shagunly event pages are intended for private sharing by link. Contributor details and Shagun amounts are visible to the host and authorized administrators, and are never displayed on public feeds or search results.
5. Data Deletion
Hosts can request the deletion of their event and all associated contribution data at any time by contacting our support team at support@shagunly.com.
6. Anonymous Analytics on Public Pages
We use PostHog to measure anonymous, cookieless pageviews on our public marketing pages (shagunly.com/en, /hi, /mr and their subtrees). No cookies, local storage, or device identifiers are written. Events are anonymous — we cannot link them to any individual visitor. Your gift amounts, contribution data, phone number, and event details are never sent to PostHog or any third-party analytics system. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we honour it and no events are recorded.
Shagun Book — Archival Consent

When you tick “Include my name and blessing in the family’s Shagun Book archive,” you authorise the host of this event to include the following in the family’s keepsake archive:
- What is included: your name as entered on the contribution form and the blessing message you wrote. Amount, UTR, phone number, and screenshots are NEVER included in the archive.
- Purpose: to assemble a “Shagun Book” — a digital and printable PDF keepsake of the gifts and blessings received during the event. This book is shared only with the host’s family.
- Retention: the archive is retained by the host indefinitely as a family heirloom. We do not sell, share, or repurpose the data for advertising or analytics.
- Withdrawal of consent: you may withdraw at any time. Email the host of this event, or contact us at privacy@shagunly.in with the event name and your name; we will remove your name and blessing from the archive within 7 days.
- Grievance redressal: if you believe your data is being mishandled, you may file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
