Quick answers for hosts and guests

Common Questions

Does Shagunly hold or collect my money?
No. Shagunly is only a software layer. Your shagun is paid directly into the host's UPI account by your bank. We never custody funds.
Can guests see how much others contributed?
No. Contribution amounts are visible only to the host on their private dashboard. Guests only see their own.
Do guests need to sign up or log in?
No. Guests open the link, pay through any UPI app, paste the UTR, and they're done. No account.
Which UPI apps are supported?
Any UPI app: GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, your bank app. Guests scan the QR or tap to open their default UPI app.
What languages does the invite support?
English, Hindi, and Marathi. The guest can switch language on the invite page; the host picks the default at creation.
Is there a fee?
Creating a page is free. Guests never pay any fee to Shagunly — shagun goes straight to the host's bank. Paid plans add tools for hosts (WhatsApp templates, reconciliation, CSV export) — never a cut of shagun.
Can I record cash and gifts received at the venue?
Yes. The Munshi Desk on your dashboard lets you — or a trusted family member — log cash and in-kind gifts on one phone at the venue. They appear in the same ledger as online shagun, so nothing is counted twice or missed.
What about relatives outside India (NRIs)?
The invite opens anywhere in the world, and guests abroad can leave their blessing right away. For money: UPI needs an Indian bank account, so NRI relatives usually send shagun to the host directly and the host records it in the ledger.
What if a guest makes a typo — wrong name or transaction ID?
You can fix it. Open the entry on your dashboard to correct the name or UPI reference, or delete a duplicate entry entirely. Every correction is logged, and the amount a guest declared is never altered.
Who can see my guest details and messages?
Only you. Your ledger is private to your account, your invite link is unlisted, and guests choose what to share. We never sell data or show ads — the DPDP consent a guest gives is used only for what it says.
What happens to everything after the celebration?
It stays yours. The ledger and blessings remain in your account so you can download the Shagun Book whenever you like — and you can delete any entry, or the entire event, from your dashboard at any time.
Is Shagunly a payment app or a bank?
No — and that's deliberate. Shagunly is software: invitations, RSVPs, and a ledger. Money moves directly from your guest's UPI app to your bank account. We never hold it, route it, or take a cut of it.
